Wellbeing Literature

We know teacher wellbeing is strongly connected to teachers’ work, but in interested in teacher wellbeing with a focus on supporting teachers, not with the intent to enhance student learning.

There’s a wealth of literature written to determine strategies to enhance and support student learning, and we know teachers have a critical role within this, but the literature to support teacher wellbeing is limited and unclear. You’ll see even within this article, that defining teacher wellbeing is difficult.

Professor Faye McCallum, Dr Deborah Price, Professor Anne Graham and Dr Anne Morrison have created this literature review Teacher Wellbeing: A Review of the Literature to condense the current research, identifying ‘what we know’ and ‘where to next’. The later stages of this article also give research-based strategies and initiatives.
